Don’t be afraid to switch up your makeup routine! If you normally go for a heavy smokey eye and a nude lip try the opposite and go for a simple eye and bright lips. Try this look! FACE: EYES: LIPS:
Brighten your face with a tinted moisturizer. Try Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer ($30) or Physician’s Formula Tinted Moisturizer ($12).
Use a matte nude eyeshadow on your entire lid such as Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow in Naked ($17) or Revlon Matte Eyeshadow in Vintage Lace ($5).
Run a thin line of liquid eyeliner on top lash line. Bring line slightly past outer lash line to create a cat eye. Try Maybelline Line Stiletto Precision Liquid Eyeliner ($7) orSmashbox Limitless Liquid Pen ($17).
Curl eyelashes and add a few layers of mascara. Try Covergirl Lash Blast Lengthening Mascara ($9) or Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara ($9)
Find the brightest, boldest color you can! Reds, Pinks, Peaches! Some great lipsticks to try are L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Colour in Wild Plum or Tropical Coral ($7) or Benefit Cosmetics Full Finish Lipstick in Pillow Talk ($18).
The Purrrr-fect Cat Eye
Want that Angelina Jolie cat eye look? Follow these steps to achieve this stunning yet simple look.
- Find the right liner for you. Both liquid and crème liner products work to achieve a cat eye. If you choose liquid find a liquid liner with a short pen-tip on the end. The shorter the tip the more control you’ll have over the liner. Try Physicians Formula Flet-Tip Eye Marker Ultra Black ($8) or Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen Blackest Black ($9). If you’re choosing to go with a crème liner go for Loreal Hip Cream Liner ($12) or Physicians Formula Cream Liner. ($11).
- To start apply a neutral eye shadow all over lid and use a highlight color right under the middle of the brow. Then apply a matte deeper color in outer crease. Try Cover Girl Eye Enhancer Eye Shadow 4Kit - Urban Basics ($5)
- Then apply a thin line of the liquid or crème eyeliner along the upper lashes. Once you have a thin line to follow you can thicken the line until you’re satisfied. If you’re feeling like your arm is shaky try resting it on the counter top for some support.
- The most important step is making the wing on the end of the eye. Using your liner apply a very thin line on your lower lashes extending just past then end of your lash line flicking up toward the end of your brow.
- Lastly, curl your lashes and add mascara.
